I decided to put black vinyl wire over top of Questa's outside kennel and then lay a tarp over part of it. Last year she was a little puppy and the wire was not necessary. Now she is 11 months old and will come in heat any day, so the wire is an extra safety measure (not that she will be out at all alone or off leash while in heat.. that program has her in a crate inside or on a leash with me outside so a miserable 3 weeks for us both).
While I was doing this I had Dante (a cat I rescued from a horrible ordeal in a Barn Fire) out in his kennel for a little while. Now the kennel grass is a bit deep in there and there are some dandelion flowers and he can slink around in the grass like a Mountain Lion. I saw him over there and Questa on the outside of his kennel and they were sort of playing thru the fence (I thought). I got the wire and tarp up and went over to see what the two of them were doing and here comes Questa with a Dead Vole that these two must have conjured up out of the grass in Dante's kennel. She handed it to me and I told her this was not a thing for her and gave it back to Dante.
So, we now have a team of mouse/vole/mole catchers. I am thinking of renting them out.....

Working together is much more dangerous than them chasing each other lol

They DO chase each other.. usually in the morning when I am trying to get everybody fed and me out the door to work. I have been trying to explain to these dangerous dogs (GSD's) that cats do not chase them. I have also told the cat that these dogs chasing him is dangerous to him.
I think they are laughing at me.

our siamese plays back and forth with the dogs but it scares me when she does with Ronaldo even though he is docile it scares me because he is large and he pounces and she is little. She will swat him race our from under one couch and run into the other room and under our other couch.

The barn cats here do not allow the dogs close enough to get to know them.
