When I watch people training bite work with an Agitation Harness on the dog, they have a long line on the dog (usually flat Nylon). They typically are "a tree" and the dog keeps trying for the training pillow (and sometimes the sleeve) until the helper lets the dog have the bite.
How long is the Agitation line for this work? They seem shorter than a lunge line for a horse but similar tho lighter in make up (if you use a nylon lunge line)

It really is personal preference but I would not use one less than 12 feet.

I went out and picked up a horse lunge line. I have used those for years. Someone told me it was NG because it would hurt my hands. We will see.. dog is in heat right now so we are pretty much going no where for awhile.
Horses have hit the lunge line and it never hurt my hands.. and a dog is lighter. Lunge line is 26 feet but, of course, you hold it the length you need.

I agree with you, and I think they are just not open to ideas other than what they have been brainwashed to believe lol
