I started to look at SchH training last fall and found out that there is usually a HUGE committment to a club (both time and money). On top of that, it seemed to me that each club had "their" traning and you were required to conform (dammit!).
Add to all that two helpers.. one who was green and would not damage a dog (but also not capable of building one) and the other part time helper who had what some in the sport refer to as "helper-itis" (Large Egos Not Helpful to Dogs or Handlers learning).
I dropped back a bit.. but now may have found a club with an "associate" membership (2 days a month) where I can work on Protection while joining up with others at different times to work on Obedience and Tracking.
I was looking at a private situation (US) to get a title on my dog.. but the cost was very high and I had to leave my dog with this person for an extended period of time.
Thoughts?

That sounds fantastic and I think sch today in the USA is taking a change from the dictator ego/ TD ran clubs to more of a co op of people helping each other train. I for one think it will be much more beneficial and encourage more new members into sch.

Sounds like a good idea and I am also looking at a club that is very much like what you describe at the moment so let me know how it goes.
